Traffic Citation:

  • Once a traffic citation is received, a letter will be mailed within 48 hours to inform of the charges associated with the citation and your Court Date.
  • You may call the Municipal Court Clerk at 304-258-1102 with any questions.

 

Parking Citation:

  • Once a parking citation is received, you have 30 days to pay the parking citation. For expired meter citations, there is a 48-hour window to pay a reduced fee.
  • After the 30-day window passes, the citation owed amount is shown in the column labeled 30 or more days.

 

There are two options for both parking and traffic citations.

 

Option 1 (Payment without a court appearance):

  • If no court appearance is necessary, you must pay the fines associated with the traffic citation by the date given to you by the Municipal Court Clerk or as labeled on your traffic citation.
  • Both the traffic and parking citations can be paid online being sure to include the citation number at https://townofbath.org/citations/ – Citations & Payments – Town of Bath

Option 2 (Court Appearance):

  • To contest the traffic or parking ticket before a judge, please call the Municipal Court Clerk at 304-258-1102. The Municipal Court Clerk will let you know your court time and date.
  • If the citation is a mandatory court appearance, it will be stated on the letter from the Municipal Court Clerk.

 

NOTE:

Failure to appear in court when mandated or pay the citation can cause the following items to occur:

  • A suspension of your driver’s license until the citation is satisfied.
  • Collection action for unsatisfied citation amounts.
  • For traffic tickets, a capias (arrest warrant) can be issued for you with additional costs being added.
