We are extremely excited to announce Mountain View Solar has offered to donate their time and materials to help us bring solar power to Greenway Cemetery in the form of lighting in our maintenance shed. The shed has been without any power or lighting and the costs to put electric in were far beyond our means. We contacted Mountain View Solar in hopes of finding a more cost effective option. We never imagined they would be so generous! We will keep you posted once this project is underway! If you are considering an alternative form of energy, keep them in mind. They are a great company and give a lot to the community.

Jeanne Mozier hosted a lovely volunteer recognition ceremony at The Legion Saturday Morning. In her words..."The 34th annual Community Volunteer Day found all these happy folks, plus a half dozen more who could not make the event, being honored by 24 local organizations. We all should be the ones smiling when we consider all the work these people do as volunteers to keep our Morgan County world spinning on its axis. On behalf of everyone -- thank you. Happy Retirement Betty! Today was her last day in the office. We said goodbye over pizza and german chocolate cake (her two favorites)!!! We would like to thank her for her years of service to Berkeley Springs Water Works and Town of Bath. She worked hard every day. Her smile and good nature were key factors in keeping the office running as well as building good relationships with our customers. While we are excited for her and wish her the best, we will surely miss her. (P.S. If you live close to Betty and Mike, watch out for an alarm clock flying out their bedroom window any minute now!!!!)

Do you drive pass a place where people have dumped garbage and wondered why nothing is done about it? It was brought to our attention that the DEP may simply not be aware of the sight. There is a lot of area assigned to one officer and without people notifying them, they may not be aware of the problem. Anyone can report an illegal dump site directly to their office to be investigated using the following form on their website.

Town of Bath is thankful for all who helped battle this fire and save the family inside. We are especially proud of our own Ptlm. Link. His selfless response alongside his fellow officers ensured everyone made it out safely. Times like this remind you what a special person it takes to be an officer. Had these men not responded so swiftly and selflessly, this structure fire could have resulted in a tragic loss of lives or injury to the family and children that called it home.
